Be Quietly Confident

Be Quietly Confident

Dear Daughter,

Quiet confidence. It shows up in the happiest of people, walking through the door tall and steady, but never high and mighty. It's what turns heads and opens hearts. A gift passed down from strong mothers to the daughter who walks in her footsteps.

Those with quiet confidence tend to focus on aspirations, rather than gossip. They know that authenticity is more important than popularity, so look for support instead of "fans" or "followers". With this tenant as your guide, don't be afraid to listen to your instincts - they’ll serve you well in deciding who to love and let in, and who to wish well and walk away from.

Women with quiet confidence also trust their own decisions and recognize that bumps in the road to the path of happiness are just that - bumps, not road blocks.  They carry themselves with grace and determination; two keys to changing the energy - and the world - around them. As a strong woman, hang on to these keys; they'll unlock doors that most see as unpassable.

On your path to discovering quiet confidence, my hope is that you find it early on, during the years when insecurity threatens to replace the innocence that has always been your protection.

When others begin to doubt their own beliefs, dreams and appearance, hold strong to the "you" that you've known your whole life. Find confidence in your quirks and the things that you love, and be humble in all that you do.

For quiet confidence is not believing that everyone will like you - it's knowing you'll be fine if they don’t.
